Admission Requirements

Admission into the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is highly competitive. We accept candidates through three primary routes: UTME, Direct Entry, and Inter-University Transfer.

O'Level Requirements

Candidates must possess at least five (5) credit passes at the Ordinary Level (WAEC/NECO/GCE) in not more than two sittings. The required subjects are:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Any other science subject (e.g., Biology, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing).
UTME Subject Combination

You must sit for the following subjects in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination:

  1. English Language
  2. Mathematics
  3. Physics
  4. Chemistry
Candidates must also meet the prescribed cut-off mark for the Department in the University's Post-UTME screening exercise.

Direct Entry candidates spend a minimum of 4 academic sessions. In addition to meeting the O'Level requirements stated above, candidates must possess one of the following:

Option A: A-Levels (IJMB/JUPEB/CAMBRIDGE)

Passes in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry with an aggregate score not below 12 points.

Option B: National Diploma (ND)

Upper Credit in Electronic & Electrical Engineering (or a closely related field) from an NBTE-accredited institution.

We accept transfers from other recognized universities (not polytechnics or colleges of education) under the following conditions:

  • Candidates must meet the OAU minimum entry requirements (O'Level credits).
  • Candidates must have been admissible via UTME into their present institution originally.
  • Transcripts must be received by August 30th of the admission year.
